The smallest feline is a masterpiece. - Leonardo da Vinci
Cat shows are an unmatched and wonderful opportunities to meet fellow feline fanciers, and to see the incredible diverse breeds of cats. Wear comfortable shoes, and plan to spend several hours walking around enjoying all the beautiful cats present. Take your time to really figure out what breed might be most appealing to you. And, spend some time at the various show rings, watching the judges as they handle the various cats in their rings, and listening carefully to their comments about each cat.
The focus is to have fun with cats and our families, make new friends, visit with old friends, and promote all breeds of cats along with the health and well-being of our feline friends. We want to make everyone feel welcome and part of a "family oriented" environment.
The purpose of a cat shows is to help promote the Club that organises the show and help promote the Council it belongs to, which in this case is F.C.C.Q Inc and also our federal body which is Australian Cat Federation (ACF).
Only at a cat show can the public get up close and personal with beautiful felines that they have only ever seen pictures of in books or on the net. It is often at cat shows that a family will make the decision on getting a particular breed. Talk to the breeders and exhibitors, and ask them how they got started, what it is like, and for their help and advice. Discuss temperament and particular needs and fully discuss any questions you may have.
At shows the public can find out what the standard is on all breeds. So if some backyard breeder is trying to tell you that a puss is a golden-eyed Siamese, at a show you will find out quickly that there is no such thing.
You will visit a museum to see a Da Vinci or other work of art, this is no different. These beautiful animals are the - "The Best of the Best" a glorious example of their breed and proud to show themselves off.
