How the Cat Shows must be run.
Show Rules – Feline Control Council of Queensland Inc.
These rules apply to those Shows held by FCCQ Inc. or FCCQ Inc Affiliated Clubs and are conducted under the By-Laws, Rules & Regulations, as amended from time to time, of the FCCQ Inc.
General –
Any Entry may be refused without stating a reason. Receipt of a Show Entry does not constitute an invitation to enter this show and the Show Committee reserves the right to return and/or refuse any application for show entry. The Show Manager reserves the right to refuse entry to any members of the public that they deem necessary..
- Fees must be paid in full and must accompany the completed Show Entry. Fees for absent exhibits are forfeited by the exhibitor. Fees are not refundable. Cheques returned dishonoured or unpaid by the bank must be replaced by a Postal Money Order, Bank Cheque or Cash for the original amount PLUS whatever extra amount required to cover fees incurred by the Club, Show Committee, Show Manager, or Council.
- The Show Manager/Committee reserves the right to alter Judging Assignments where necessary.
- No responsibility is taken whatsoever for any injury, loss or damage, to any person or party (visitors, the general public, exhibitors, or exhibits) or to any property resulting from, or arising out of, any accident, incident, or happening whilst the person, party or property are in the Show Hall and surrounding vicinity, or whilst in transit traveling to, or returning from, the Show Hall.
- Registration: All cats and kittens over 6 months must be registered. Registration numbers must be quoted on entries with complete & correct details. This does not apply to Domestic entries.
- Any exhibit which has been domiciled at the home of a judge within the preceding three (3) months may not be shown under that judge.
- Age of exhibits will be the actual age on the day of the show. No kitten under ten (10) weeks of age may be shown. Any kittens for sale at a show must observe the rules for show kittens and must remain until the close of the show.
Caging –
- All exhibits must be brought into the show hall securely contained in an adequate carrying container. In the case of adult cats there may be no more than one animal per container; kittens are exempted.
- Exhibitors must check that cage numbers and catalogue entries pertaining to their exhibit/s are correct. Exhibitors must notify the Show Manager of any errors prior to the advertised judging start time.
- Any exhibit not in it’s designated cage at the commencement of judging will not be judged in that ring. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to bench exhibits in advance of the advertised judging start time.
- No exhibit may be removed from the cages before the close of the show (generally 3 pm) without the express permission of the Show Manager. Failure to adhere strictly to this rule may result in forfeiture of prizes and/or awards.
Grooming –
- Exhibits upon which there is any colouring matter or powder will be disqualified.
- The claws of all cats and kittens must have been clipped prior to judging.
- Atomiser Sprays, Essential Oils, or Methylated Spirits are not to be used in the Show Hall. Stewards may confiscate such materials or products including lavender, until the conclusion of the days judging at their discretion.
Judging –
- Exhibits will be judged in accordance with the Standard of Points approved by the FCCQ Inc.
- Sedated exhibits must not be shown. If detected, the exhibit will be disqualified.
- Disqualification will apply to exhibits obviously in kitten, and to exhibits which cannot be handled.
- The Judge is empowered to withhold any award in any class if the exhibit does not, in his/her opinion, possess sufficient merit. Exhibitors may ask the Judge their reasons/opinions only after judging of the ring has been completed but at all times must maintain a civil demeanor. No tolerance will be afforded to exhibitors (or anyone) who in any way try to intimidate or harass a Judge (or any other exhibitor).
- Judges' decisions are final. Exhibitors are required to maintain a courteous manner; any unseemly, aggressive or disruptive conduct and/or comments may result in disqualification. In this regard the Show Manager has complete discretion to disqualify exhibits from further judging and/or expel exhibits and exhibitors from the Show Hall.
- Protests or Complaints may be made in writing to the Show Manager on the day of the show or within 7 days (a $20 fee must be included, which shall be returned if the protest is upheld).
