The FCCQ Inc. was first established in 1965 and is the oldest cat council in Queensland. It also includes The Northern Feline Fancy of Qld. Inc. and The Foreign Shorthair Cat Club, which are the oldest Cat Clubs in Qld. Listed elsewhere are the Clubs affiliated with FCCQ Inc. together with their contact telephone numbers.
Shows are conducted by all Clubs at the RNA Show grounds, in Brisbane city, and are highly successful and well patronised.
A code of ethics is issued to all new breeders to enable them to properly house and feed their cats and is of assistance to all in the management and breeding of cats. The FCCQ Inc. Council meets monthly and consists of an executive plus delegates from each cat club affiliated with the FCCQ Inc. The delegates bring matters of concern from their respective clubs these are discussed and action is taken if required.
Elections are held by secret ballot annually with the exception of The Registrar who is appointed by the executive for a period of three years. Each club casts a vote for the election of the executive positions.
